SafeMart Vietnam is an online marketplace platform built for the expat community living in Vietnam. We connect verified sellers with buyers across 20 cities in Vietnam. Our platform is accessible atsafemartvn.com.

We collect the following information when you register and use SafeMart:
·Full name and email address
·WhatsApp and Zalo contact numbers
·Nationality and city of residence
·Profile photo (optional)
·Residence card or visa documents (for seller verification only)
·Listing information including photos, descriptions and prices
·Reviews and ratings you submit
·Device information and browser type
·Usage data such as pages visited and listings viewed
3. How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes:
·To create and manage your account
·To verify seller identity and prevent fraud
·To display your listings on the marketplace
·To facilitate contact between buyers and sellers
·To send important account notifications via WhatsApp
·To improve the platform and fix issues
·To comply with legal obligations
·To show relevant listings based on your city
4. How we protect your information
We take security seriously and implement the following measures to protect your data:
·All data is stored securely on Supabase with Row Level Security enabled
·Identity verification documents are stored in private secure storage
·Only SafeMart admin can access verification documents
·We never sell your personal data to third parties
·All connections use HTTPS encryption
·Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
5. Identity verification documents
When sellers submit identity verification documents such as residence cards or visas, these documents are:
·Stored in a private secure storage bucket
·Only accessible by SafeMart admin for verification purposes
·Never shared with buyers or any third parties
·Used solely to verify that the seller is a real person living in Vietnam
·Deleted upon request by contacting our support team
6. Cookies and tracking
SafeMart uses minimal cookies and local storage to:
·Keep you logged in to your account
·Remember your preferences
·Track listing view counts per session
·Improve platform performance
7. Third party services
SafeMart uses the following third party services:
·Supabase - database and file storage
·Vercel - website hosting
·Google - for QR code generation
·WhatsApp - for seller and admin notifications
·BIDV Bank - for payment processing
8. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
·Right to access your personal data at any time
·Right to update or correct your information
·Right to delete your account and all associated data
·Right to request deletion of your verification documents
·Right to know how your data is being used
·Right to withdraw consent at any time
9. Data retention
We retain your data for the following periods:
·Account data - retained while your account is active
·Listings - retained until you delete them or close your account
·Verification documents - retained while your seller account is active
·Reviews and ratings - retained permanently as part of marketplace integrity
·Transaction receipts - retained for 12 months
10. Children's privacy
SafeMart is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will notify users via an announcement on the platform. Continued use of SafeMart after changes means you accept the updated policy.
